Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van Hainault to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and in compliance with all applicable laws relating to slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Hainault provides local and regional transport, removals, and related logistics services. Our activities are primarily based within the United Kingdom, and our supply chain includes vehicle hire and maintenance, fuel providers, equipment suppliers, and occasional use of subcontracted labour and transport services.

We recognise that the logistics and transport sector can be exposed to risks of modern slavery, particularly through the use of temporary, subcontracted, or agency workers. We therefore take active steps to understand, identify, and reduce these risks.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms. This policy applies to all individuals working for or on behalf of Man with Van Hainault, including employees, contractors, agency workers, and business partners.

We will not knowingly enter into relationships with any organisation or individual involved in modern slavery. Breach of this policy by staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contracts. Any supplier found to be involved in, or complicit with, modern slavery may have their contract suspended or terminated.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to ethical labour practices. As part of our due diligence, we assess new suppliers against our modern slavery principles, including expectations around fair pay, safe working conditions, and the voluntary nature of work.

Where appropriate to the size and risk profile of the supplier, we may carry out audits or request evidence of their own modern slavery policies and procedures. This may include reviewing their written policies, worker terms and conditions, and any independent certifications or compliance reports.

We prioritise more detailed checks for suppliers operating in higher-risk sectors or regions, or where subcontracted labour is common. Continued engagement with Man with Van Hainault is conditional upon cooperation with our oversight and our commitment to continuous improvement.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We are committed to creating an environment where concerns about modern slavery can be raised openly and safely. All employees, agency workers, subcontractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any suspicion of modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business or supply chain.

Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or through any designated reporting route established within the business. Reports may be made confidentially, and we will take all concerns seriously, investigate them promptly, and, where necessary, take appropriate remedial action.

We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, raises a concern or participates in an investigation relating to modern slavery.

Training and Awareness

We provide relevant guidance to managers and staff involved in procurement, supplier management, and workforce engagement, so they understand the signs of modern slavery and how to respond to potential risks. We aim to build awareness of ethical sourcing and responsible recruitment throughout the business.

Monitoring, Annual Review, and Continuous Improvement

Man with Van Hainault is committed to continuously improving its approach to identifying and addressing modern slavery risks. We monitor our policies and practices to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the nature and scale of our operations.

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management. As part of the annual review, we consider changes in our business activities, developments in legislation and guidance, outcomes of any audits or investigations, and feedback from workers and suppliers.

Following each review, we may update our policies, procedures, and training to strengthen our controls and further reduce the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain.

This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Hainault and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
